PIRC Report: Serious injury following police contact
In the early hours of Saturday 27 April 2019, a 25-year-old woman was arrested in Glasgow following a report of a disturbance. The woman struggled violently with arresting officers making it impossible to conduct a thorough search of her at that time.
PIRC INVESTIGATION: Investigation into police actions prior to fatal motorcycle incident
We are carrying out an investigation into the actions of police officers in the lead up to a road traffic collision in Inverness involving a motorcycle in the early hours of Saturday 29 June 2019. A 33-year-old man died.
The incident was referred to the PIRC by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and a report will be submitted to them in due course.

PIRC INVESTIGATION: Commissioner investigates circumstances leading up to death of woman
We are investigating the circumstances leading up to the death of a woman in Dundee on Wednesday 26 June 2019.
Police attended following reports of an injured woman in her 50s. She later died at Ninewells Hospital.
As is standard procedure, the incident was referred to us by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and our report will be submitted to them in due course.

PIRC INVESTIGATION: Commissioner investigating serious injury to 28-year-old
We are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances leading up to and including the serious injury of a 28-year-old man following a police pursuit in Aberdeen in the early hours of Wednesday 26 June 2019.
The incident was referred to the PIRC by Police Scotland as is standard procedure and a report will be submitted to the Chief Constable in due course.

Serious injury after police contact, Rutherglen, 21 January 2019
About 1550 hours on Monday 21 January 2019, in the Rutherglen area of Glasgow, an officer of Police Scotland struck a man on the head with a police baton causing a minor laceration.

We are investigating allegations of potential criminality against officer of Police Scotland and it would be inappropriate to comment further on a live enquiry.
The matter was referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) by the Crown office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and a report on the Commissioner’s findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course.

Serious injury following police contact, Fife, 22 June 2018
On Friday 22 June 2018, Police Scotland officers arrested a 34-year-old man at his home in Fife. The Police National Computer (PNC) showed that he was wanted for interview as a suspect for a robbery and breach of bail which happened on 24 April 2018.
