The Complaints

The complaint in this case arose when the applicant was asked to leave licensed premises and was subsequently arrested. In a statement the applicant said that she saw a female taking drugs inside the licensed premises.  She reported this to staff but was then asked to leave. The applicant said that officers approached her outside the premises and that she told them about the use of drugs inside.

We have reviewed the handling of one complaint, namely that:

  1. Police officers failed to investigate the applicant’s report about the use of drugs in the licensed premises.
