The Complaints

We have reviewed the handling of three complaints, namely that:

1. On 13 January 2021 the conduct of officers who attended Mr A’s address on two separate occasions caused him alarm and distress;

2. Police Scotland did not take Mr A’s autism into account when trying to engage with him;

3. The statement of complaint taken by an inspector was incorrect as it only related to the police visits on 13 January 2021.

Police Scotland’s Decision

Police Scotland did not uphold any of the applicant’s complaints.

Our Findings

We have found that Police Scotland handled complaints 1 and 2 to a reasonable standard but not so complaint 3.  However, we have not made any recommendation.
