The Complaints
The complaint in this case arose after the applicant contacted the police about congestion on the road due to temporary traffic lights. The applicant contacted the Police Scotland via email to report congestion on a road in his local area, caused by the phasing setting of temporary traffic lights. On the same day, the applicant received an email from a Service Advisor who advised that the setting of temporary traffic lights was not the responsibility of Police Scotland. The Service Advisor suggested that the applicant contact his local authority during office hours. We have reviewed the handling of one complaint, namely that:
- The applicant is dissatisfied with the response he received from a Police Scotland advisor when making a report.
Police Scotland's Decision
Police Scotland did not uphold the applicant’s complaint.
Our Findings
We have found that Police Scotland handled the applicant’s complaint to a reasonable standard.
