The Complaints
The complaints in this case arose after the applicant’s son was arrested and held in police custody. We have reviewed the handling of two complaints, namely that:
- on 4 January 2021, whilst in the process of arresting the applicant’s son, the police failed to administer the appropriate caution and arrest rights to the applicant’s son; and,
- on the same date as above, and whilst in police custody, the applicant’s son did not receive the medication supplied to the police for him by his mother.
Police Scotland’s Decision
Police Scotland did not uphold any of the applicant’s complaints.
Our Findings
We have found that Police Scotland handled all of the applicant’s complaints to a reasonable standard.
No further action is required in this connection.
