The Complaints
The complaints in this case arose when the applicant was charged with an offence and when he made reports of alleged criminal acts to Police Scotland.
We have reviewed the handling of two complaints, namely:
that Police Scotland took an unfair and inconsistent approach by charging the applicant with an offence, while high profile persons, or those involved in high profile incidents, have not been charged in similar circumstances; and
that Police Scotland did not take sufficient action into the applicant’s reports of criminal acts.
Police Scotland’s Decision
Police Scotland did not uphold the applicant’s complaints.
Our Findings
We have found that Police Scotland handled both of the applicant’s complaints to a reasonable standard.
