The Complaints
The complaints in this case arose after the applicant was arrested under warrant, and subsequently held in police custody.
We have reviewed the handling of two complaints, namely that:
- On 21 August 2018, at a local library, the applicant alleges that he was approached by fake police officers who informed him that there was a warrant for his arrest, which he believes was fake; and
- On the same date, the applicant was exposed to filthy conditions within a police station.
Police Scotland's Decision
Police Scotland did not uphold any of the applicant’s complaints.
Our Findings
We have found that Police Scotland handled both of the applicant’s complaints to a reasonable standard.
