Crown directs PIRC to investigate police contact with 28-year-old man prior to his death in Glasgow on 30 January
The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) has been directed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to carry out an independent investigation into police contact with a 28-year-old man prior to his death.
The man entered the River Clyde in the Broomielaw area of Glasgow in the early hours of Saturday 30 January 2016. His body was recovered on Sunday 31 January.
A report on the Commissioner's findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course.
