One CHR was published by the Review Team this week, examining three complaints against Police Scotland

In PIRC/00563/19, the complaints in this case arose after the applicant was detained, interviewed and subsequently charged in connection with an assault on a child.

We found that Police Scotland handled two of the complaints to a reasonable standard, but the third was not. The applicant had complained about the reason stated by police for taking them into custody.

A recommendation was made to address the shortcoming identified in Police Scotland’s handling of this complaint, which should be implemented by Police Scotland within two months.
