The PIRC is investigating the actions of police officers in the lead up to a road traffic collision in Inverness involving a motorcycle.

The 33-year-old motorcylist died following the incident on Saturday 29 June 2019.

A spokesperson for the PIRC’s Investigations Team said:

“We are carrying out an investigation into the actions of police officers in the lead up to a road traffic collision in Inverness involving a motorcycle in the early hours of Saturday 29 June 2019. A 33-year old man died.

“The incident was referred to the PIRC by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and a report will be submitted to them in due course.”
