The PIRC is investigating an incident during which police discharged a Taser at a 40-year-old man in the Highlands.
A spokesperson for the PIRC's Investigation Team said:
"We are carrying out an investigation after Police Scotland officers discharged a Taser twice at a 40-year-old man following an incident in Balintore, near Tain, on Thursday 1 August 2019.
"The case was referred by Police Scotland and a report will be submitted to the Chief Constable in due course."
