    Commissioner responds to final report on Dame Angiolini policing review

    The final report of an independent review of complaints, investigations and misconduct issues in relation to policing in Scotland has been published today.

    The report by Dame Elish Angiolini was commissioned by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and the Lord Advocate in June 2018.

    Senior Solicitor begins new role as Commissioner

    Senior Solicitor Michelle Macleod has taken up her position as Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC).

    Michelle, who was appointed by the Cabinet Secretary in June, started her five-year term as Commissioner on Saturday 17 August 2019. She was previously Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector for the Inspectorate of Prosecution in Scotland.
